10,000 players incoming! Steam Playtest Invites Going Out This Week
We plan to run an important test tomorrow! This will lead to a couple of 8-hour online sessions as part of our first-ever Steam Playtest!
A build will go live later today or tomorrow with a few balance changes (see the bottom of this post). The first online test will happen in EU:
EU: 26 April 2023 16:00
An NA test will also be available later that day:
NA: 26 April 2023 23:00
If this build goes according to plan and we don’t see any game-breaking issues there will be several online battle tests happening at the following times, Each lasting 8 HOURS LONG!
EU Times:
28 April 2023 13:00
Saturday, 29 April 2023 13:00
NA Times:
Friday, 28 April 2023 18:00
Saturday, 29 April 2023 18:00
The reason for such a lengthy online period is due to the invitation of Steam users via the Steam Playtest feature. We will be randomly selecting 10,000 players across North America and Europe. This will happen at around Friday, 28 April 2023 12:00. Those selected will receive an email from Steam and they’ll be able to install the game an hour before the EU playtest begins
Those of you in the Discord who are using the launcher, will be able to log in to the launcher, as usual, to play with Steam players. However, if you’ve been selected to join the Steam Playtest, you’ll be able to log in with your account and keep the robocraft you made prior to the Steam Playtest.
For context, we have had over 30,000 players request to join the Steam Playtest so far. We will be running additional playtests in other regions in the future, as well as inviting more players to join us. We wanted to start with a small number to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
If you know anyone who might want to join the Playtest via Steam, they can still sign up on the Store page at https://store.steampowered.com/app/1991140/Robocraft_2/
We anticipate that there will be a lot of new players hopping by the Discord over this weekend, please be nice to them and offer to help if they have any questions about the game in terms of building their first Robocraft or any questions about the development!
We’ll see you on the battlefield!
