HOW TO COPY SAVES FROM MAIN TO PREVIEW
The save data for Techblox (main) and Techblox Preview are completely independent. Your Machines and Worlds are saved in the cloud via Epic Online Services and the two versions of the game have completely separate locations in the cloud to prevent the data from becoming incompatible as you switch back and forth between versions. This means, if you're playing Techblox Preview for the first time you will see that you have no saved Machines or Worlds at all.
Is there a way to copy your saves from Techblox (main) to Techblox Preview?
The short answer is No. There is a workaround that you can use for the time being though, but you need to take care when doing it otherwise you can break your save data and game installs.
Blueprints are still stored locally on your PC and not in the cloud (this will change in future). So, you can copy blueprints from one version to another.
Here's how to do it:
Open up the following directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\TechbloxPreview
Copy the folder HotbarBlueprints
Paste the folder named in the following directory C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\Techblox Preview
Launch the game
You can also copy across the clipboard blueprints by following the steps below:
Open up the following directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\TechbloxPreview\ClipboardBlueprints
Copy the folder ClipboardBlueprints
Paste the folder in the following directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\Techblox Preview
Launch the game
You can also copy across the hot bar slot saves too by following the directions below:
Open up the following directory: C:\Users\ccleveland\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\TechbloxPreview
Copy the HotbarSlots.data files
Paste the files in the following directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Freejam\Techblox Preview
Launch the game
IMPORTANT: You can only copy files from an older version (Techblox main) to a newer version (Techblox Preview), you must never do it the other way around as older versions of the game will not be compatible with newer versions of the save data.
